the last "Kampong"

Dragged Jason, Clement and Kolin (Jason's friend) to Pulau Ubin for some intense cycling. I think the last time I went there was 3 years ago during SR's Leap Camp (which was quite a failure), can't really recall what we did though, maybe I should ask Val, she seems to have a very good memory about our JC life. LOL.

Anyway there have been some upgrading works done to Ubin lately and I'm really glad nothing much changed over there, the old wooden kampong houses are still around and the island is still 98% forest and green. It's still the true perfect getaway from the city Singapore and it's also the (only) perfect place in Singapore for mountain cycling. Seriously. The many many many very steep up slopes are total thigh killers, never was I so tired from cycling before., I bet I'm going to have trouble walking tomorrow. Alright, I'm just weak. I know. HAHA.

But all the pain was worth it...

Because we managed to go Chek Jawa this time. I have been hearing many good stuff about that place for donkey years and finally got a chance to cycle there (it's not very far from the jetty). Although we did not manage to see the mangroves as it was high tide, Chek Jawa is still as stunning, especially the refurbished old British Cottage now used as a visitor center. It totally reminds me of the movies, something I never thought I'll be able to see in Singapore.

See what I mean? Simply
beautiful! We were totally shocked when we saw it, can't imagine such a place exist in Singapore. Well, now I have another "to buy" to add into my "when I become a millionaire" list. HAHA.

If you bother, you can check out my Facebook for more photos.
